Grasshopper Soccer is kicking their service up a notch, bringing soccer lessons to the northern suburbs.
Grasshopper Soccer is a community-based soccer organisation aiming to teach the basics of soccer in a fun, social and non-competitive environment to children aged two to 12.
The organisation is opening locations in Doreen and Mernda to offer kids the chance to get the ball rolling on their soccer journey.
Coach Dipesh Chaulagain said his own experience living in the northern suburbs with young kids inspired the organisation’s creation.
“Recently, we were looking for soccer coaching for our sons –[aged ]three and one – and couldn’t find any in the area,” Chaulagain said.
“Moreover, when we spoke with some of the locals they had similar views and they expressed that it would be great to have kids soccer coaching in the area.”
Chaulagain said there were many positive outcomes parents could expect for their kids.
“New skills, sportsmanship, making new friends, developing motor skills, building confidence, [and becoming] healthier physically and mentally are some of what kids develop during the program,” he said.
“An hour a week being active, interacting with others and having heaps of fun away from screens and technology is a plus for parents.”
Enrolments for term three are open now for both the Doreen and Mernda locations.
