School holiday fun

Hume and Whittlesea residents will have plenty of activities to choose from these school holidays, with Craigieburn Central and Whittlesea council hosting a number of events.

Craigieburn Central will be running kids activities from Monday, June 28 until Friday, July 9.

Children can pick up a school holiday passport and collect stamps by participating in a range of activities, with five Nintendo Switch bundles up for grabs.

Activities will include a “Junior Chef” event at La Porchetta, and a chance tickets to a screening of Cranston Academy.

Whittlesea council will be hosting a free Botanica Park planting day on Tuesday, July 6 from 10am to noon, teaching kids about improving water quality and environment while planting local Indigenous grasses.

Council will also have $15 school holiday grab bags on offer for anyone aged 10 to 18 years of age, which will include a range of discounts and vouchers for movies, bowling, swimming and mini golf.

Bags can be purchased from EDGE – Services for Young People at Westfield Plenty Valley Shopping Centre between 9.30am and 4.30pm until Friday, July 23 unless sold out before.

A “recovery” art exhibition, Paused, will showcase artworks from the past 12 months from Thursday, July 1 until Friday, July 23 at the Great Hall in the South Morang Civic Centre.
