Twelve schools from across Hume and Whittlesea will receive a funding boost from the state government.
The schools are among 230 across the state that will share in $10.4 million in planned maintenance funding.
Education Minister James Merlino said the funding ensures schools can undertake essential work to grounds and classrooms such as fixing roofs and windows, painting, resurfacing floors and replacing windows, as well as external landscaping works like pathways and lighting.
The government plans to spend $35,000 on maintenance at Epping’s Meadowglen Primary School, while $25,000 will be spent at each of Coolaroo South Primary School, Gladstone Park Secondary College and Roxburgh Homestead Primary School.
Lalor North Secondary College will receive $20,000, while Lalor North Primary School, Thomastown Meadows Primary School and Willmott Park Primary School will receive $15,000.
Whittlesea Primary School and Roxburgh College will each receive $10,000, while $5000 will be spent on maintenance at Gladstone Views Primary School and Roxburgh Rise Primary School.
“Our planned maintenance program is about ensuring that every Victorian school is well maintained and safe to provide the best possible environment for students to learn in,” Mr Merlino said.
“Our record investment in school infrastructure is delivering high quality classrooms for our hard-working principals, teachers and staff, as well as students and families.”
