Police have released CCTV footage following a carjacking in Broadmeadows last month.

Detectives from Hume Crime Investigation Unit have released footage of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries, in the hope that someone can provide information about his identity and whereabouts.

Investigators have been told a 19-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was dragged from his vehicle on Graham Street about 10.40pm on Monday, March 29.

The victim ran from the scene, chased by an unknown man, who then returned to the silver Mercedes Coupe CL180 and drove away.

The vehicle was found in Warnock Street in Broadmeadows the following day.

The man is perceived to be of middle eastern appearance, about 180am tall, with a bald head and beard.
