Wollert man caught at triple the speed limit

A Wollert man was caught travelling at 151km/h on a suburban street early Sunday morning.

Epping police were conducting speed checks on Harvest Home Road, as part of Operation Arid, when a car passed them at triple the 50km/h speed limit just past midnight.

Police said a 23-year-old male driver had no excuse for why he was travelling at that speed.

His Holden Commodore was impounded and he is expected to be charged on summons with speeding offences.

Operation Arid will run until 11.59pm tonight, Monday March 8.
