Craigieburn diners will be the first in Victoria to eat at Hollywood superstar Mark Wahlberg’s famous burger chain under a new partnership with United Cinemas.
The actor, producer and businessman is bringing his Wahlburgers family restaurant chain to Australia and New Zealand as part of a deal with the Mustaca family who own United Cinemas.
Wahlberg plans to open 20 stores, including in Craigieburn, with the first store to open in Sydney’s CBD.
“I’m excited to be be working with the Mustaca family to bring Wahlburgers to Australia,” he said.
“I love all the things we have in common especially family, film, restaurant experience and music.
“I’m really looking forward to our first opening and visiting with my brothers and Wahlburgers co-founders chef Paul Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg.
We could not be more thrilled to take this brand to Australia and are so looking forward to growing this partnership with the Mustaca family.”
United Cinemas chief executive Sam Mustaca said the company planned to open stand alone restaurants as well as outlets in its cinemas.
“We are thrilled to bring Wahlburgers to guests here in Australia and New Zealand. We have been following the concept for years and with its natural ties to the entertainment industry, bringing Wahlburgers into the experience at United Cinemas just seemed like a perfect fit,” he said.
“With really great food, beers and a fun atmosphere, we think it’s going to be a big hit.”
