Two new VicRoads license testing centres have opened in Coolaroo and South Morang to help ease the backlog of people waiting to take their driving test.
License testing was suspended twice this year due to COVID-19, leaving many drivers unable to take to the road.
Seven license testing centres, including Coolaroo and South Morang, have been set up to help ease the demand.
The Coolaroo centre, on Pascoe Vale Road, opened last week.
The centre will offer driving test services only, with about 500 driving tests to be conducted each week.
The South Morang centre, on Danaher Drive will offer driving and computer test services.
It has the capacity to conduct approximately 500 driving tests and approximately 1000 computer tests per week.
Bookings are required at both centres and can be made online or via phone.
Broadmeadows and Bundoora remain the closest VicRoads customer service centres.
Customers with suspended appointments who have been given priority to rebook their tests are able to contact VicRoads on a dedicated number previously provided to book an appointment.
