Police raided nine houses in Hume last Thursday as part of an operation targeting the trafficking of “ice.”
About 20 police members from the Fawkner Divisional Response Unit, with support from members of Sunbury police, carried out the operation in Sunbury and Riddells Creek.
Police executed nine warrants, arrested nine people and seized firearms, a stolen car, stolen number plates and drugs.
A 57-year-old Riddells Creek man was charged with firearms possession.
A 39-year-old Sunbury man was charged with possession of cannabis.
A 24-year-old Sunbury man was charged with possessing methamphetamine, cultivating cannabis and possessing ammunition. Another Sunbury man, 40, was charged with possessing cannabis and theft of a motor car, and a 19-year-old Sunbury woman was charged with weapons offences and possessing methamphetamine.
Police also executed a warrant on a 20-year-old Sunbury woman who failed to appear at home but who was at another address visited by police.
All six people were released on bail.
Detective Senior Sergeant George Vale said police want to send a clear message “that drug trafficking is not something we put up with”.
