Epping CFA isn’t going to let COVID-19 stop the community becoming involved.
Coronavirus restrictions mean the CFA can’t have the community come through the station so the brigade is taking it’s open day online.
The brigade will have a virtual open day on November 8.
Firefighter Leanne O’Malley said it was pretty disappointing that they couldn’t have a normal open day this year.
“We had been hoping for a few months that we would be able to have one, but realised a couple of months ago it wouldn’t happen.
“It has grown each year we’ve had an open day. We will work with what we can to still have some engagement with our community remotely on the day.”
Ms O’Malley said the brigade would start posting information on its Facebook page in the lead-up to the day, ranging from information to videos of some of their drills they’ve been doing.
On the day, they’ll have a couple of members online and a couple on phones to answer any questions that the community has.
Ms O’Malley said they would look at sharing some videos and ‘best-of’ from previous open days.
