Police have released an image of a car believed to have been involved in a shooting in Epping earlier this month.

Police have been told a 47-year-old man was standing in the driveway of a Young Street property talking to two other men just before 7.40pm on Wednesday, July 1.

It is believed shots were fired from a vehicle, believed to be a white BMW coupe, striking the man in the lower body.

The vehicle then left the scene.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was injured during the incident.

Echo Taskforce detectives are investigating as the victim has links to the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

Police said detectives were working to determine a motive for the shooting and who is responsible.

An image of a white BMW similar to that used in the shooting has been released.

Police would like to speak to anyone who recognises the BMW or saw it in and around Young Street on July 1.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
