The 3064 postcode has the highest number of active coronavirus cases in the state, Health Minister Jenny Mikakos has revealed.
The postcode, which takes in Craigieburn, Mickleham, Donnybrook, Kalkallo and Roxburgh Park, had 52 active cases as of last night.
Postcode 3047 – Broadmeadows, Dallas and Jacana – has the second highest number of active cases, with 25.
The postcodes of 3031 and 3060 rounded out the top four.
Ms Mikakos also revealed that 3564 tests have been processed in 3047 while 4655 tests have been processed in 3064.
It has also been revealed that residents in virus hotspots continue to refuse to be tested.
“We have had more than 10,000 people who have refused to be tested,” Ms Mikakos said.
“That might be for a range of reasons, including that they may have already been tested in a different location. We are analysing that data to see exactly why people are refusing, but it is concerning that some people believe that coronavirus is a conspiracy, or that it won’t impact on them.”
It comes as 66 new cases were recorded in Victoria overnight.
Deputy chief health officer Annaliese van Diemen said the majority of cases were located in hotspot postcodes in the north-west corridor of Melbourne.
Three new cases are linked to a Roxburgh Park family, bringing the total number of cases in that cluster to 23.
