A new Thomastown Neighbourhood House project is aiming to capture life in lockdown in the suburb.
As part of Neighbourhood House Week, which runs from May 8-15, the Thomastown Neighbourhood House has put out the call out for photographs of the community which would be shared on its website.
Neighbourhood house manager Victoria Wells said the #InThisTogether slideshow was based on an idea from Morwell Neighbourhood House.
“As a neighbourhood house, we are usually dealing with people face-to-face. We wanted to reach out to people and say we are all in this together, let’s all connect in some way,” Ms Wells said.
“It means we can mark Neighbourhood House Week in a productive way for the times.”
Ms Wells, who started as the Thomastown Neighbourhood House manager just eight weeks ago, said the project had also helped her get to know the community.
“I was in the job four weeks before we began working from home. It makes working in a neighbourhood house somewhat problematic as it is all about working with people. It has been really good for me to see the regular volunteers through the project.”
