Nabil Maghnie shot dead in Epping

Underworld figure Nabil Maghnie was shot dead in Melbourne’s northern suburbs on Thursday evening.

Maghnie, 44,  was shot and killed in the car park of a Taco Bill restaurant in Epping about 8.30pm.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Childs and Dalton roads after reports three people had been shot.

Police arrived at the scene to find a Bundoora man with a suspected gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

A 27-year-old man from Plumpton and a 44-year-old man were also found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital for treatment.

The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still to be determined but investigators believe the parties involved were known to each other.

A police helicopter circled the area after police and paramedics attended the scene.

A video showed one man, believed to be Maghnie, and a topless man both lying on the ground while being attended to by paramedics.

Mourners was seen gathered at the scene after the shooting, Nine News reports.
