Athletics

The under-10 4×100 relay team from the School of Good Shepherd in Gladstone Park finished third at the School Sports Victoria state track and field championships last week. The team consisted of Hugo Garcia, Carlos Egan and twins Zyon and Dre Iosefo. Carlos was third in the under-10 triple jump.

Cricket

Greenvale is in the box seat heading into day two of the clash with Ringwood in Victorian Premier Cricket. The Kangaroos sent Ringwood in and bowled them out for 143. Kyle Adams was the best bowler with 5-46, while Ian Holland top-scored with 44 for Ringwood.

Cycling

Northern Cycling dominated the recent Bill Long Camperdown-Warrnambool Open. Frank Crifo, John Hasouras and Peter Mazzarella, in that order, took out the top three spots of the 70km race. It capped off a dominant year for the club, which won seven of the 12 races in the Victorian Veterans Cycling Council Open series.

Darts

Junction Coosts were in fine form in the Northern Darts Association’s A-grade competition last week, defeating North Heidelberg Hawks 10-1. Also winners were The Shooters, Westside Dockers and Cramer’s Legends. In B-grade, Watsonia Saints, Pre/Res Lakies Blue, Whittlesea Eagles and Junction Grifters all won.
