UPDATE: Homicide detectives have charged three men with murder following an 18-month-long investigation into the shooting death of a man at Roxburgh Park.
Anwar Teriaki, 21, was gunned down as he ran from his alleged killers along Coronet Avenue on August 9, 2017.
It was later revealed the alleged killers may have waited for outside Mr Teriaki’s parents’ home for close to 40 minutes before they shot him.
The alleged murder is believed to be linked with a jailed underworld figure.
A police spokeswoman said officers descended on properties in Mill Park, Lalor, Roxburgh Park and West Melbourne about 6am Wednesday.
A 21-year-old West Melbourne man, a 24-year-old Mill Park man and a 22-year-old Roxburgh Park man were arrested at these addresses and will now be interviewed by detectives.
A 22-year-old Lalor man was subsequently arrested at the Epping Police Station and will also be questioned.
Two months after Mr Teriaki’s death it was revealed police were investigating whether the hit was sparked by an outstanding drug debt and subsequent assault.
Police said Mr Teriaki’s family had no idea that he might have been involved in the drugs trade in Melbourne’s north-west.
Charges are yet to be laid.
