Give it your best shot

With the Australian summer of tennis in full swing, Brimbank is gearing up for its popular In2Tennis program once again.

The program, which offers 10 days of free tennis programs at clubs across Brimbank, will kick off this week with a family day at Hampshire Square in Sunshine on January 18.

Mayor Lucinda Congreve encouraged the community to embrace the program and get involved.

“In2Tennis is all about getting active and introducing the sport of tennis to the wider community,” Cr Congreve said.

“We’ve been running this event for three years now and it’s been very popular with people of all ages and abilities.

“In 2019 we have more than 30 activities planned throughout the 10-day event. There’s something for everyone, so if you have experience playing tennis or have never picked up a racquet before, rest assured there’ll be something for you to enjoy.”

The family day, from 11am-3pm, will include mini tennis, speed server, face-painting and giveaways, plus the chance to watch the Australian Open on a big screen.

Other activities during In2Tennis 2019 include: club open days, hot shots, cardio tennis, mums & bubs programs, swing into tennis (inclusive version of tennis presented by Scope), and blind tennis.

The full program, including locations and times can be viewed at www.brimbank.vic.gov.au/In2Tennis.
