Doreen’s Jael Wena to represent Australia at Junior Eurovision

Doreen schoolgirl Jael Wena will give the biggest performance of her life this Sunday when she steps on to the stage at Junior Eurovision.

The 12-year-old has been chosen to represent Australia at the song contest in Belarus that is expected to be watched by more than two million people.

Jael was selected as Australia’s contestant after winning the Fast Track Talent Showcase three years in a row.

The Hazel Glen College student said she was “grateful” to have been selected.

“When I found out, I was screaming,” she said. “It feels amazing. I can’t believe I [was] chosen to represent Australia for this big event.”

Jael often records in her dad’s studio at home (Joe Mastroianni).

Jael has been singing for as long as she can remember and wrote her first song aged four.

The talented singer was also part of the Hazel Glen College choir and performed in the school’s production of The Sound of Music earlier this year.

“I enjoy showing my talent to other people and showing them my potential,” she said.

Jael will perform the song Champions, which was written for her by MSquared Productions. Junior Eurovision will be broadcast on ABC Me on November 26 from 6pm.
