Three budding track and field stars from Greenvale Primary School are gearing up to represent Victoria at the School Sport Australia Championships.

Year 6 pupils Max and Kean and year 5 pupil Mischa will join Team Victoria at the championship track and field events, which will be held in Melbourne from November 23-27.

The trio earned a place in the team after excelling at the School Sport Victoria track and field championships in late October.

Mischa came third in the 10-year-old girls discus.

Kean finished second in the 11-year-old boys 100 metres and third in the 11-year-old boys 200 metres.

Max finished first in the 12-year-old boys 100 and 200 metres.

Teacher Shannon Carroll said it was the
first time the pupils had qualified for Team Victoria.

“Mischa, Kean and Max have been working hard all year, in and out of their physical education sessions, with an aim of improving their physical performances,” he said.

“Their athletics journeys have been varied, with some relatively new and others years in the making.”
