The Hume City Bronco men’s side opened its account in Big V state championship basketball at the weekend by picking up two wins.
They started with a 104-77 win over Sheroke. Import Jamal Brown top scored with 22 points.
The Broncos backed it up on Sunday with a 87-86 win over Whittlesea Pacers.
On Saturday night, the Pacers lost to Ringwood 89-83.
The Bronco women won their state championship match against Warrandyte 65-46.
