Craigieburn experienced mixed fortunes on Sunday as it dropped its first game of the Cricket Victoria Community Cricket north-west A T20 competition.
In a day of doubleheaders across the division, Craigieburn faced Ballarat Women’s CC and Plenty Valley.
Craigieburn was tested against Ballarat
It got off to a good start with the bat and went on to make 4-143 from its overs.
Captain Litara Va’auli top-scored with 69 at the top of the order. Samantha French was the other main contributor with 33.
Craigieburn got off to the right start with the ball, dismissing opener Summer Dehnert for a duck.
From that point it was all Ballarat, which chased down the runs and finished 1-144.
Taylah Logie was the wicket taker for Craigieburn, finishing with the tidy figures of 1-17.

Craigieburn was hoping to bounce back in its second match against Plenty Valley and did exactly that.
Craigieburn restricted Plenty Valley to 6-89 off its 20 overs, including having the opposition in trouble at 5-25.
Logie took two wickets, while four other players took a wicket each.
Craigieburn changed the batting line-up around and scored the runs required with ease.
It finished 1-90 with nine balls remaining. Logie finished 34 not out, while French finished on 33.
On a big day for Craigieburn, Sue Kermath played her 100th game.
Despite the loss on Sunday, Craigieburn remains on top of the ladder, percentage ahead of Ballarat.
Tullamarine won both its games.
First-up the Demons accounted for Plenty Valley.
Tullamarine made 6-95 from its overs, before restricting Plenty Valley to 8-83.
The Demons then caused an upset by ending Ballarat’s winning run.
The Demons made 5-117 from their overs, with Ballarat falling short by getting to 7-102.
The Demons sit fifth.
In the north-west B competition, Greenvale Kangaroos lost to EMP/Willy Congs.
