Disco days at Hume libraries throughout school holidays

It’s disco time at Hume’s libraries.

To celebrate the school holidays, Hume council is hosting Monster Mash silent discos at Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Gladstone Park, Tullamarine and Sunbury libraries.

Children can put on a pair of headphones and dance the afternoon away at the silent disco, experiencing music, fun and games without the noise.

Tullamarine’s disco is on September 26, before the party moves to Gladstone Park on September 27, Sunbury on October 2, Craigieburn on October 3 and Broadmeadows on October 4.

Mayor Geoff Porter said the libraries would also be offering a range of other engaging and educational activities throughout the holidays, including a LEGO expo, superheroes trivia night and Sphero Robots. The council’s youth services team will also be running a youth adventures program, featuring trips to the Melbourne Show and Melbourne Zoo.

“You can also challenge yourself with basketball, skate, BMX and scooter competitions or cook creative, delicious sweet treats,” Cr Porter said.
