Westmeadows petrol station evacuated after device found

UPDATE: A Westmeadows petrol station has been deemed safe by police, following the discovery of a device earlier in the day.

The Caltex service station on Mickleham Road has reopened after the Bomb Response Unit conducted safety checks at the outlet.

Emergency services were called to the petrol station at about 11.45am, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
