Grants totalling $250,000 have been announced for the establishing of a child care programme in Werribee. The programme provides for the building or purchasing of two day care centres for children, staffing and running costs, administration costs and equipment.

Hoppers Crossing housewife Sharon Whitecross is sick and tired of tending to broken and bloodied bodies in the loungeroom of her house on the intersection of Derrimut and Sayers Rds. In the past year, she has attended 10 accidents and says there is a major accident outside her house every three to four months.
