Thunderstorm asthma meeting

Asthma Foundation Victoria will host a thunderstorm asthma education session at The Grange Community Centre, 260-280 Hogans Road, Hoppers Crossing, on Wednesday, September 20, from 7-8.30pm. It will cover who is at risk, how to respond to a thunderstorm event, how to perform asthma first-aid, and the link between asthma and hay fever.

Pet and Animal Expo

There will be cats and dogs galore in Werribee this month when the Pet & Animal Expo returns on Sunday, September 17, from 10am-4pm at the Wyndham Civic Centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee. Pet owners can take advantage of discount microchipping and free registration, while experts will be on hand to offer tips.

Parkrun

Wyndham Vale parkrun is a free weekly, five-kilometre timed run or walk for all ages and abilities. Meet at the Werribee Softball Pavilion, Presidents Park (McGrath Road, Gate 3), at 7.45am each Saturday for a short briefing. The run starts at 8am.

Twilight market

The Manor Lakes Neighborhood market will be holding a Twilight market on Friday, October 6, from 5-9pm, at the Wyndham Vale learning and community centre 86 Manor Lakes Boulevard, Manor Lakes. Free entry, food trucks, stalls, a DJ and free face-painting. Limited stall spaces still available, $30 each and must have public liability insurance.

Cupcake workshop

The Williams Landing Shopping Centre will host free kids cupcake making workshops in the Kitchen Workshops. Enjoy school holiday fun by decorating a cupcake buddy, creating a piglet, puppy, bunny or cat. No bookings required, outside Woolworths at the Williams Landing Shopping Centre.

Health and Active Expo

Wyndham City’s Healthy and Active Expo will run from September 16 to October 8 within a number of locations and will feature 70 free events, clinics and ‘come and try’ sessions.
