Broadmeadows’ man charged over alleged sports car ring

A Broadmeadows man will face court today as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged trafficking of high-end sports cars.
Vehicle Crime Squad detectives arrested the man, 39, about 10.30am on Monday and executed a search warrant at a residence in Stamford Court, Broadmeadows.
Senior Constable Alistair Parsons said the arrest followed the seizure of two allegedly stolen cars, a Porsche Carrera 911s and BMW Z4, at a wrecking yard in Somerton on August 19.
The man was charged with handling stolen goods, possessing proceeds of crime and committing indictable offence on bail.
He was remanded to appear at the Melbourne magistrates court today.
