Luxury cars recovered
Four northern suburbs men charged with theft and aggravated burglary after police seized luxury cars and property valued at more than $460,000 have been granted bail, with conditions. Sam Bokhaazi of Mill Park, Abraham Naddaf of Yarrambat, Christopher Sykos of Reservoir and Mohomoud Naddaf of Doreen fronted magistrate Suzie Cameron on April 22. All matters were adjourned for a committal hearing on July 8.
Shopping centre break-in
Two men broke into the Stables shopping centre at Mill Park by forcing open an external roller door about 5.40am on April 13. Once inside they smashed their way into a tobacconist’s and stole an unknown quantity of cigarettes. They then jumped into a stolen Subaru station wagon and were involved in a pursuit with police later that morning at Fawkner. The same car and offenders are believed to have been involved in several other burglaries on the same day. Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 000 333 with any information.
Ice helpline
A new ice helpline has been started to support families and users. The helpline – 1800 ICE ADVICE (1800 423 238) – directs users and families to treatment and support services and provides general information via a free call from landlines, which will connect callers to health professionals. Turning Point will operate this 24/7 helpline. Its launch coincides with the launch of the new www.ice.vic.gov.au website.
