NPL: Hume City looks for right head space after loss to South Melbourne

Hume City’s loss of form in the National Premier League is more a mental than a physical issue, according to coach Louie Acevski.

After winning five matches in a row, City has collected only one point out of its past three games, losing to South Melbourne 1-0 in wet conditions at ABD Stadium on Saturday.

Acevski said a loss of confidence seems to have hit the side.

“We’ve gone from one extreme to the other, scoring lots of goals to not scoring at all,” he said.

Acevski said the team would look at addressing the issues at training ahead of the side’s game against Green Gully.

“If we get back to basics, hopefully they will score goals at training and it will flow on to the game.”

In NPL 1, Whittlesea Ranges beat Box Hill United 3-0.
